My Favorite Apple

Confessions of an Apple Collector

Written By: Scott - Nov• 10•11

I’m an Apple zealot- a member of the Cult of Mac- and yet I have a confession. Back in the day music went from a cassette Sony Walkman to digital- I bought a Zen, instead of an iPod.

Before everyone unloads on me, let me explain. One of the primary attributes of Macheads actually caused me to go to the dark side.

Apple preaches Think Different. Be a Rebel. Go against the status quo. Well, I did. I bought a Zen, as in Creative Labs. Actually it was a Zen Touch, released in June 2004.

Everyone had an iPod. Everyone. Like a Mac guy, I didn’t want to be an Everybody. If you remember the first generation iPod (Click Wheel)  came out in October 2001. Jobs announced it as a Mac-compatible product with a 5 GB hard drive that put “1,000 songs in your pocket.”

Now I use my iPhone 4S as my portable digital music player 🙂 but am hot in the hunt for a 1st generation Click Wheel iPod for my collection.

BTW- Apple has a good list of all their iPod models.
